#1 Legal Bases on Information Privacy
CVV is studying the legislative design of the Personal Data Protection Bills 2018 and 2019, in the context of the invitation of the public comments by the Joint Parliamentary Committee. We shall be studying (i) standards used for regulating Cross Border Data Transfer; (ii) standards used when governments outsource their data processing work, (iii) capacity of the individuals to contest with big service providers in dispute resolution systems, (iv) the compatibility of the bill provisions with the advancement of technological developments, and also, such other important concerns brought to the table by the invited scholars, activists, the general public and the experts, who shall engage with the CVV team, at various stages and levels.
We will be submitting the below-mentioned deliverables to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.
- Memorandum of Recommended Changes in the BILL with Draft Text,
- Policy Brief and
- Study report into the legislative design of the Bills 2018 and 2019.
