#2 Role of ULBs in Governance
In the context of Kerala Local Body Elections 2020, CPPR is studying the role and relevance of Urban Local Bodies in governance. The research project will focus on:
- 74th Constitutional amendment and Article 243
- Municipal finance
- Governance structures
- Parastatal agencies
- 18 functions devolved to ULBs
- Administrative services for City governance
- Use of Technology in Municipal Corporation
- Role of Local Body in Transit Oriented Development
The project will discuss how ULBs could play a major role in addressing urban challenges with some case studies from around the world.
